Title: Awards
Post by: Shreya C on September 19, 2016, 07:35:17 PM
So, we came up with ideas for four awards: two that would be judged by teachers, and two that would be judged by the teams. I've written up brief descriptions of these awards; feel free to suggest your edits or changes to the names.

Robo-Ohana Award (Teacher Judged)
This award is given to the team that has the most chemistry between their team-members. The winning team is not just a team; it is a family that goes out of their way to make all team members feel accepted and loved.

Best Pitcher Award (Teacher Judged)
This award is given to the team that best presents a feature of their robot. The winning team demonstrates extensive knowledge of the feature while presenting in an engaging manner that captures the judges' attention.

Driver's Ed Award (Team Judged)
This award is given to the drive team that is most professional, both on and off the field of play. The winning team exemplifies the qualities of gracious professionalism in their interactions with their alliance partners, their opponents, and one another. This award will be judged by the teams.

Aficionado Award (Team Judged)
This award is given to the team that incorporated the Halloween theme the most into their presentation for the day, from their outfits to their pit to even their robot. This award will be judged by the teams.

As far as what the actual award looks like, the current plan is to fabricate (before we make stuff on the team!) each award using some of the new tools in the lab. This can include the laser cutter, 3D printer or CNC machine. The exact process is still TBD; Brayden and Peter are scoping out the possibilities with Mr Hall.

How to make a BSB award.
After 2 years of making these, here's the way we should make them.

Qty: 1 per team for participation. 3 for champion. 4 for awards.
